Above all else, guard your heart

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. -Proverbs 4:23-

Our hearts can be our strongest or weakest spots. It depends on how we guard and strengthen them. Our hearts are the core element of our spirit and they are capable of bearing God's good deeds or causing self destruction and devastation to others.

It is our instinct to protect valuable things, we even advise others to watch over their possessions or loved ones. Our parents keep close guard on us until we reach a safe age to start making decisions. The same way I've realized we need to guard our hearts from temptation or anything that draw us far from our loving Father.

On Proverbs chapter four, our loving Heavenly Father starts saying "hear this" and he explicitly instruct us to guard our hears above all else. Yet, we take little time and conscious effort to guard our heart.

Strengthen and guard your hear by having fellowship with others, spending time in God's word and setting time in prayer.
